My Aunt Catie had this GREAT idea to come to Davenport and go to Chucky Cheese. I had so much FUN!!! They had these little cars and when you put a token in they moved. I was DRIVING!!! The steering wheel even turned. Chucky tried to talk to me, but I was having none of it and had to get back to driving.
On Wednesday, mom and dad too me back to see Dr. Vibahaker in Iowa City. I was disappointed because he wasn't wearing his Elmo tie and he made me get blood drawn, but he did give us really good news. My hemoglobin levels were up to 9.9 from 7.4 the previous week. That meant I didn't have to get a blood transfusion that day either - YEAH!! Over the weekend, I was a real crank because they decided to give me a steriod burst to see if it would help. Dr. V wasn't very hopeful since the Coombs test had come back negative 3 times. That means the steriods shouldn't have worked. But, they did!!! Everyone was VERY happy on Wednesday.
So, what this really means is that my immune system thinks that my red blood cells are bad and it is trying to destroy them. Now, the doctors at least know what path to look down for the cause and will be able to treat me with medications instead of blood transfusions being the only option. Depending on how things go, I will probably have to get another transfusion at some point.
Everybody is very happy, and even though I am not better mom and dad feel like they have their little boy back. I have so much ENERGY!!
Tomorrow I am going to see Spuddy. Mom can't wait to hear me laugh at her. Oh yeah - I finally got another tooth - up to 5 now.
