Pre / Post Surgery
We went into the hospital on Nov. 10th. Surgery was that moring. Kirby went back at 8:15 and the surgeon came out at 12:15. The procedure was laparoscopic, they did not have to do a full open which was good news.
It took his internal organs a while to come back to life, ie. it took 24 hrs for him to urinate normal time is 6-8hrs.... Thus, it took everything else a long time to come back to life. Kirby had his first meal late Wednesday afternoon. Finally, we were released and went home Thursday. Got to the house around noon. We all took naps, good thing too, we ended up at the ER in IC Thursday about 11pm because Kirby was vomiting pretty bad. Long story short, his colon was full. Finally went home Friday about 5pm on a restricted diet, but we were ok with that.
Blood Levels:
Pre-surgery - 8.6
Post - surgery - 8.2
Thursday pre checkout - 9.5 (Dr. said that was remarkable)
Wed, Nov 19 - 11.5
Doc's called Thursday and told us the surgery worked! No need to get labs again until our follow up visit on Dec 16th. This was a huge relief.
Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers over the past year. It has been a long one, but we think the saga is finally over!
